Ryann's Recliner

Ryann's cute new chair!

This chair is also the perfect size for Sally too. Hopefully no fights will break out over whose chair it is and they can continue to share it.
But if all else fails, Sally has found another spot that she likes and can hide from Maggie...she figured out she fits under the chair when it is reclined.

6 Months

We have now spent half a year with are little girl and she is so much fun. She is still in the 90th percentile for weight, height, and head circumference.
Weight: 18 lb 5 oz
Height: 26 1/2 inches
Ryann loves to eat anything we give her. She may make a face the first time she tries something new, but she always opens her mouth for more. Here is how feeding time goes with Ryann...
Everything must be kept off the high chair because she can reach it and she will reach for it.
Everything goes into her mouth. I have found that the best way to deal with this is have a wash cloth on hand to constantly wipe off her mouth. She of course loves cloth and wants to bite it. I let her because then at least it's not her finger going in her food filled mouth. My favorite thing she does with the wash cloth though is she bites down on it and then pulls...maybe she has been watching the dogs a little too much.
I have a couple toys I keep on the high chair to entertain her either while I am heating up her food or cleaning up. Her favorite is the giraffe. It has a little nubby on the top of it that she loves to bite...
and fits PERFECTLY into her mouth.
Ryann loves her dogs and they are constantly making her laugh. When I get her out of her crib in the morning, one of the first things she does is look down on the floor for the dogs.

Ryann still likes them even when they take away the paper she was playing with and the proceed to eat it.
Ryann has a couple new toys that she likes. Yes, I have gotten my child a toothbrush and she has no teeth. My thought is that maybe she will get used to how the toothbrush feels so that when we do start brushing her teeth it isn't as traumatic as it can be for some children.
But Ryann has a new toy she loves even more...
Yup, she loves the cell phone. Even though this one doesn't have a battery in it and doesn't light up, she still loves it.
If you didn't notice in all the pictures Ryann is officially sitting up. She loves to sit up. I can't get her to play on her back or stomach for very long, all she wants to do is sit up.

Pumpkin Carving

Of course for Ryann's first Halloween she had to get a pumpkin and help me carve it.
Making sure the scoop is ready to use
Grandpa helping Ryann eat the topShe figured it out too
What fun would it be to carve a pumpkin and not eat the gutsEating pumpkin guts is fun...and turns you orange
Ryann's first pumpkinAfterward we took Ryann to the trunk or treat. She didn't know what to think of all the people in costumes.
She tolerated one stop to see my friend Mary and her family.
Saying hi to Mary and Katie.Mary's son was Pedro and Ryann wanted to grab his hair...and she did.
The night ended like this. No better way to finish up a holiday relaxing on Grandpa with a bottle (which she is starting to be able to hold herself:)
Pictures of Ryann in her costume are coming. I did a mini Halloween shoot with Mindy and can't wait to see the pictures she got of Ryann.
